Future Weekend Plans: Reading, Learning, Traveling, and Family

Imagine spending your weekends in 10 years' time. What kind of activities would you choose? It's an exciting thought, and for many, it's a chance to explore different interests and priorities that arise as life progresses. Here are some of my aspirations for future weekend plans, focusing on maintaining my love for reading, learning, traveling, and family.

Continuing the Pursuit of Knowledge and Linguistic Skills

As someone with a deep passion for continuous learning and intellectual growth, I envision myself still engaging in activities like reading books and learning new languages. Sanskrit, for instance, continues to hold a special place in my heart, and I look forward to expanding my linguistic repertoire by mastering other ancient and modern languages. The joy and enrichment that come with understanding and appreciating different cultures and perspectives is a driving force behind my dedication to learning.

Physical Fitness and Mindfulness: Badminton and Speech Listening

Next on my list are activities that help me maintain my physical and mental well-being. Playing badminton remains a favorite pastime, not only because it provides both camaraderie and physical fitness but also because it nurtures a sense of teamwork and fair play. Additionally, listening to speeches, whether they are motivational or philosophical, forms an integral part of my intellectual and spiritual nourishment. These activities keep my mind sharp and engaged, fostering a deep appreciation for human thought leadership and encouraging introspection.

Religious and Self-Discovery: Travel and Pilgrimage

Traveling, particularly self-driving to far-off places for pilgrimage, is a significant aspect of my plan for future weekends. It allows me to explore diverse cultures, historical sites, and spiritual landscapes. I hope to continue visiting sacred places and conducting pilgrimages, which provide opportunities for self-reflection, spiritual growth, and connection with the divine. These experiences enhance my understanding of myself and my place in the world.

Family and Grandchildren: Nurturing Generational Connections

Another cherished aspiration for me is spending time with my grandchildren. As a grandfather, I am fortunate to already have one, and I eagerly await the arrival of new additions to our family. Engaging in activities with grandchildren, such as playing games, storytelling, and creating memorable experiences, builds strong emotional bonds and creates a sense of continuity across generations. This role is both fulfilling and rewarding, as it helps me witness the growth and development of my precious clan.

Speaking Engagements and Motivation

Delivering motivational speeches and religious discourses as a freelancer continues to be a passion of mine. These activities allow me to share insights, inspire others, and contribute to the broader community. Whether it's through live events or online platforms, I hope to continue using my platform to uplift and educate others, tapping into my deep-seated conviction that shared experiences and knowledge can make a positive impact.

Work and Retirement: A More Balanced Approach

It might be disheartening to some to think about the reality of retiring and engaging in part-time work. However, I believe that transitioning into a more balanced lifestyle, while still contributing to society, is a sustainable and enjoyable approach. I plan to contribute to various part-time business ideas alongside my wife, which will allow me to work on projects that interest us without the stress of full-time commitment. I aspire to take it easy, enjoy the fruits of our labor, and focus on what brings us joy and fulfillment.

Embracing these future weekend plans not only enriches my personal life but also aligns with my values and aspirations. Whether through learning new languages, engaging in physical activities, embarking on pilgrimages, spending time with family, or delivering motivational speeches, I am committed to staying true to myself and my passions.
