How Trump Will Suffer His Own Downfall Without Hillary Clinton’s Need for Revenge

Living Well and Letting Trump Burn

"Living well is the best revenge." These words, originally attributed to the Talmud and variously quoted over the years, capture the essence of how former U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is likely to approach the situation following the 2020 election. She is not plotting revenge and has no need to. She is rich, retired, and living a comfortable life.

A Reaper of His Own

Donald Trump, on the other hand, is the one reaping the consequences of his actions. Almost everything he says and does only seems to lead him into more hot water. His downfall is self-inflicted, and he is fading into irrelevance. Currently, he is banned from Twitter, losing direct contact with his supporters. Without power, the few remaining Fox News affiliates who still take his calls are essentially filling segments to bash the Biden administration. His rants and raves at Mar-a-Lago, complaining about the “theft of the election,” are mostly ignored by those he once appealed to.

Awaiting Inevitable Flyers of Justice

Trump’s losing the election was just the beginning. He lost the Senate and failed to regain the House. Under the Biden administration, legal actions are being taken to unwind whatever Trump managed to achieve through executive orders. Meanwhile, the administration is focusing on addressing the pressing issues, such as distributing vaccines for COVID-19. In stark contrast, Trump was not only indifferent to the virus's spread but also failed to take any significant action to secure vaccines he ordered.

As a result, Trump has now become essentially irrelevant to most Americans, but the situation is very different for American law enforcement. The wheels of justice are grinding inexorably in New York and Georgia, set to crush him. He admitted to inciting insurrection, and his untrained and poorly organized supporters were easily identified and apprehended by federal authorities.

Consequences and the Future

Trial proceedings are inevitable for Trump. Law enforcement is gathering evidence that he incited insurrection and may face charges of tax evasion, bank and insurance fraud, and money laundering. His attempts to overturn the election and the insurrection are likely to result in significant legal repercussions.

Most notably, there is no shortage of legal talent that would be willing to take on Trump, given his situation. He faces unresolved investigations in various US Attorney's offices, and he risks facing criminal charges in multiple jurisdictions. This is a difficult position for a former President to be in, especially when American law enforcement is currently focused on bringing the hammer down on him.

So, while Hillary Clinton has no need to plan revenge, the downfall of Donald Trump is effectively achieved through his own actions. What his supporters referred to as “living well that’s her best revenge” is now a reality, as Trump is setting in motion the very downfall he fears the most.

Therefore, living a comfortable life has proven to be far more satisfying and just than any form of revenge. Hillary Clinton's life remains her best revenge.
