Ancient England: A Journey Through Time
England holds a special place in my heart, and not just because of its magnificent castles and rich history. Here are my trips to England.
1990: My first overseas trip with my Mum. We visited my grandparents in Wales on their 50th wedding anniversary. It was a wonderful place full of history and castles, making it a magical experience for me. 2000/2001: We lived in Kent and Surrey for six months. Grandparents celebrated their 60th anniversary. We explored and toured extensively. 2006: A lot of exploring and delving into family history in Kent, Cambridgeshire, and Lincoln. We visited many castles, though none belonged to my family! 2018: I visited with a friend who had never been anywhere before. We explored London and the South-West. 2023: I went on my own to London for a self-driving tour of castles and stayed in one! A week in the Lake District further enriched my trip.England is a land full of stories, culture, and history. Each visit offers new discoveries, making it a destination I always return to for a fresh perspective on a place I dearly love.
